Public health and primary care: stronger together

Swiss Public Health Conference 2023

12- 13 septembre 2023

Which position does primary health care have within the health care system? What are the economic implications of a shift from an inpatient to an increased outpatient care? How can the digitalisation be used and how can scientific findings be implemented within the primary health care system?

Rapidly changing health needs of the population, the growing proportion of older people and the associated increase in chronic and multiple diseases, as well as socio-economic inequalities, constantly bring new challenges to the health system and require regular adjustments to primary health care. In order to maintain the health of the population, expand treatment options and at the same time control costs, public resources must be used efficiently.

At the Swiss Public Health Conference 2023, scientists and hands-on experts will discuss multidisciplinary approaches in primary health care, the use of digital media, such as the electronic patient record, and how research results can be implemented to promote healthy behaviour in the population. In addition, the legal possibilities and political ways to contribute to a healthy society will be highlighted and discussed from a political point of view.

Strengthening primary health care is of crucial importance. Let us discuss together at the Swiss Health Conference 2023 how primary health care in Switzerland can be shaped to sustainably strengthen the health of the population.
